
Pop Top Open 2026
Once again. the staff at Pinecrest Golf Course gave us a great time. The weather was sunny and temp in the mid 70’s and great golfing conditions. The food was exceptional as usual. We had 68 golfers this year and not the maximum of 72 due to problems with the wait list. Best wishes to Eric Viens whom I was told fell off a ladder on Friday and may have broken a backbone. I could not play but I showed the best lie for putting on the ninth green. Here are the winners. First place low net at 9 under was the team of Peecher, Merlino, Murphy and Fedora. Second: place was Coyne, Prattico, Slattery and Nasser at -7. Third place was J.Hart and son, Conti and Gaipa. Long drive on the 3rd hole was won by Paul Nasser and closest to pin on hole 5 was won by Jon Bailey. All winners received gift cards from Dick's Sporting Goods. We paid tribute to thankfully only one Brother lost since the last Pop Top: Skip Knee, badge 114. Due to several no shows and those on the waiting list declining or not responding, there may be prior payment required next year by a certain date, probably Aug.1. Also, those groups requesting foursomes in May will have to require ALL members of the foursome to contact me at the same time. Next year, the Pop Top will be at the same course on September18 at 10am. Registration starts at 9:00am. We will go to our assigned holes at 10:00am sharp.
